Managing credit, not just recording it

Giving credit is not the risk. Losing track of it is. Most shops know roughly who owes them money and have no reliable sense of how much is at stake with any one customer, or how long it has been sitting there.

A limit per customer, as a warning rather than a wall

You can set a credit limit on any customer. When a new bill would take them past it, Vanij tells you before you save — and then lets you carry on if you want to.

That is on purpose. You know your customers and the software does not, so it is not going to refuse a sale on your behalf. Its job is to make sure you were not deciding blind.

How old the money is

Total outstanding is the number everyone looks at and the least useful one. Vanij groups what you are owed by how long it has been owed, so the balances that have quietly stopped moving stand out from ordinary running credit.

That grouping is worked out from the bills and the payments against them. It is a practical view for deciding who to call first, not an accounting-grade allocation, and it is not a substitute for what your accountant does at year end.

Asking, without the app doing the asking

When you decide to follow up, Vanij prepares the message and the statement; you send them. There is no automatic dunning, no scheduled chasing, and no message that leaves before you have read it.

For a customer who wants the detail, the Statement of Account PDF lists the unpaid bills, what was received against each, and the balance — so the conversation starts from a shared document instead of two different memories.

Vanij keeps your billing data on your own phone, not on our server.
