Invoice generator for Indian businesses

An invoice is not just a total on a piece of paper. Which document you are allowed to issue depends on how your business is registered — and getting that wrong is the kind of thing a CA finds months later, at filing time.

Three different documents, three different rules

A GST-registered regular business issues a tax invoice, showing GSTIN, HSN codes and the tax split. A composition dealer issues a bill of supply, which carries no tax columns and must state that the seller is a composition taxable person. A business that is not GST-registered issues a plain bill — a parcha.

Vanij picks the correct document from your business profile rather than asking you to remember which one applies. If you later register for GST, the mode switches without losing existing data.

What a usable invoice actually needs

Beyond the legal fields, an invoice has to survive being shared on WhatsApp, printed on a thermal roll, and read by someone's accountant six months later. That means a clean line-item table, the amount in words, and a total nobody has to recompute.

It also helps if the customer can pay from it — Vanij can put a UPI QR carrying the exact balance directly on the invoice.

Generate it once, find it later

An invoice you cannot retrieve is a problem waiting to happen. Every bill stays reopenable, reprintable and re-shareable, and corrections are handled the way GST expects — with a credit note, rather than by quietly editing a document that has already gone out.

Vanij keeps your billing data on your own phone, not on our server.
