Why Vanij exists

Every startup, every micro business, every small business begins the same way: someone believing they can build something that lasts, armed with nothing but grit and a notebook.

But billing software forgot them. Built for accountants, priced for enterprises, and designed for businesses that were never their customer. And every "affordable" app eventually turns on them: quiet price hikes, paywalled features, and their own data held hostage the moment they can't pay.

Vanij exists to be the exception - built with heart for startups, micro and small businesses, retailers, and every dream in between, because your business deserves software that never stops believing in you.

What Vanij is

Vanij is a GST billing app for small businesses across India. It handles tax invoices and plain non-GST bills, udhaar khata, stock, and the reports your CA asks for - and it is built local-first, meaning your business data lives on your own device rather than on a company server.

There is one all-inclusive plan. Every feature is in every paid option; nothing is held back for a higher tier. Your price is locked when you buy and never rises on renewal. There is also a Free plan that stays free.

Who builds it

Vanij is made by EWUS Technologies Private Limited, an Indian company that also operates under the name EWUS Technologies. Vanij is its billing product for Indian small businesses.

It is built and maintained by the Vanij Team. The app is published on Google Play under the package com.ewus.vanij.

Vanij Assistant answers most questions directly and can raise a support ticket for you without a form.

What we will not do

We do not sell or share your business data - there is no server-side copy of it to sell. There are no ads and no tracking SDKs in the app or on this website.

If your subscription ends, your data stays on your device and stays exportable. Access is never held hostage to a renewal.

And we will not put a claim on this website that the product cannot back up. If you find one, tell us and we will correct it.

Your business data stays on your device

Your customers, products, bills, credit ledger and stock live in a database file on your own phone. They are not uploaded to Vanij, and they are not synced to a company server in the background.

This is not a policy promise - it is a structural one. Our servers have no table that could hold your business data. The only things our systems store are what you would expect: your licence record, support tickets you raise, and the account details tied to a purchase.

What actually leaves your device

Being precise matters more than sounding absolute, so here is the real list.

• Your business data: never, except to destinations you own - your own Google Drive backup folder, your own device storage, or another of your own counters over your own Wi-Fi.
• Your email address: reaches our servers when you redeem or restore a licence, when you contact support, and as part of backup and activation health signals the app sends automatically.
• Support messages: only what you type into Vanij Assistant, when you type it.
• Diagnostic logs: only if you switch on debug mode and then approve the upload.

How your data is protected on the device

Your business data is protected by your phone's own operating-system-level storage protection - the same protection every other app's data on your phone gets - plus Vanij's optional App Lock (PIN) if you turn it on.

Backups go to places you own

Vanij backs up to your own Google Drive, into an app-private folder, and to a backup file on your own device that you can save or share anywhere you like.

The app asks Google only for access to its own private folder - it cannot list, read or touch the rest of your Drive. You can optionally turn on AES-256 passphrase encryption for those backup files, with the passphrase never leaving your device.

App Lock and Staff Mode

App Lock puts a PIN in front of the app. The PIN itself is never stored - only a salted hash of it - and five wrong attempts trigger a five-minute lockout.

Staff Mode is for handing the phone across the counter. In it, purchase prices, profit, Reports, Settings and udhaar totals are hidden; staff can bill and record payments, nothing more.

Payments never touch our servers

Card details are entered directly into Razorpay's own hosted checkout. They do not pass through, and are not stored by, any Vanij system.

Diagnostic logs are opt-in, twice

If support needs device logs to diagnose a problem, debug mode has to be switched on deliberately - it writes nothing at all until then. Before anything is sent, you are shown the exact bundle and have to approve it.

CGST and SGST, or IGST - which applies to you

If your business and the place of supply are in the same state, the tax is split into CGST and SGST. If they are in different states, the whole amount is IGST instead. Your customer pays the same total either way - only the split changes.

Ab tak ka Impact

Ye report abhi live nahi hai: jaise-jaise Vanij users aur subscriptions badhenge, hum yahan real numbers (kitna contribute hua, kis cause/NGO ko gaya) update karte rahenge.
